Vikings Show Interest in Guard
Former Baltimore Ravens offensive left guard Edwin Mulitalo told RavensInsider.com on the Scout.com network about his plans and the interest he's receiving from several NFL teams.
Mulitalo, whom Baltimore cut Wednesday to clear $2 million in salary cap space, visited the Detroit Lions on Thursday and said he plans to visit the Seattle Seahawks and Atlanta Falcons. The Washington Redskins and Minnesota Vikings have demonstrated interest in Mulitalo, but no visit is currently scheduled.
Mulitalo is recovering well from surgery on his right triceps tendon, which he tore Oct. 1 against the San Diego Chargers. Mulitalo, 32, played in a career-low four games last season and ended last season on injured reserve.
"I have no regrets because I understand the business," said Mulitalo, who played next to All-Pro left tackle Jonathan Ogden for eight seasons after being drafted in the fourth round. "I loved my time in Baltimore, and now it's time for me to find somewhere else to play. Baltimore will always be my home."
The Vikings are set at left guard with the acquisition of Pro Bowler Steve Hutchinson last March, but the right side of their offensive line struggled last year.
